NOMAS Works Manager

Built for offshore wind – Adaptable for any high-risk operation

NOMAS Work scope management was designed with offshore wind construction and operations in mind, but because every deployment is built from the ground up for each client, it can be configured for any project where a formal permit to work process is required. Construction, commissioning or operations – the platform adapts to the project, not the other way around.

Everything in One Place. Always Available.

NOMAS keeps the complete operational record of a project in one place:

  • Every permit ever raised – status, history and audit trail for the life of the project

  • All approvals and rejections, attributed to the individual, permanently recorded

  • Supporting documents attached to each permit – always accessible, never lost

  • A live view of all active, suspended and expiring permits at any moment

No back-office requests. No delays. Every piece of safety-critical data available to the administrator the moment it's needed.

Core capabilities

Permit lifecycle management

Full end-to-end permit workflow – from submission through multi-level approval, issuance, suspension, extension and close-out

Every permit status transition is recorded in a complete audit trail, timestamped and attributed to the individual who made it

Permits are automatically flagged as expiring before they lapse – giving issuers time to act without relying on manual tracking

An auto-close scheduler runs continuously in the background, closing permits that have passed their end time without manual intervention

Permit duplication – raise a new permit based on an existing one in seconds, without re-entering repeated information

Professional print output – each permit generates a formatted, print-ready document that matches the standards expected for offshore operations

Role-based access control

One of the most important features in any safety-critical system – and one that NOMAS handles with precision.

Every user is assigned a role that determines exactly what they can see and do within the system

Permit requesters, approvers, permit managers and master users each operate within clearly defined boundaries

Package-level approval groups allow specific permits to be routed to the correct approvers automatically, based on work scope and contractor

No user can take an action outside their role – preventing accidental or unauthorised status changes

All approvals, rejections and closures are attributed to the individual and logged permanently

SIMOPS detection

The system automatically checks for simultaneous operations when a permit is submitted

If overlapping work scopes or locations are detected, the requester is alerted before the permit progresses

SIMOPS conflicts are clearly displayed with the relevant permit numbers, titles and planned timings

Gives the permit authority full visibility of concurrent work before any approval is granted

Electrical safety rules

A dedicated module for managing Electrical Safety Rule documents, separate from the standard permit workflow

Supports application and issuance of ESR documentation directly within the system

Role-based access controls who can create, apply for and issue electrical safety rule documents

All ESR records are retained and accessible throughout the project lifecycle

Work scope planning

A structured planning tool that gives the permit team and management visibility of upcoming work across all vessels and assets

Entries are linked to specific assets, vessel locations and work scopes

Allows the team to identify clashes, plan resource allocation and prepare approvals in advance

Replaces ad-hoc spreadsheets and fragmented communication with a single, shared operational picture

Document management

Permits can have supporting documents attached directly – method statements, RAMS, drawings, certificates

Documents are stored securely and linked to the specific permit record

Download access is controlled by role – documents remain available for the full project lifecycle

Link attachments allow external references to be captured alongside uploaded files
